Frithjof Schuon (1907-1998) is best known as the foremost spokesman of the “Traditionalist” or “Perennialist” school and as a philosopher in the metaphysical current of Shankara and Plato. He wrote more than two dozen books on metaphysical, spiritual, artistic, and ethnic themes and was a regular contributor to journals on comparative religion in both Europe and America. Schuon’s writings have been consistently featured and reviewed in a wide range of scholarly and philosophical publications around the world, respected by both scholars and spiritual authorities. Besides his prose writings, Schuon was also a prolific poet (see a listing of Schuon's poetry books) and a gifted painter of images that always portrayed the beauty and power of the divine, and the nobility and virtue of primordial humanity.
World Wisdom features a series titled "The Writings of Frithjof Schuon", which includes many new editions of classic books by Schuon in new translations and with additional materials. Our online Library contains many articles and poems written by Frithjof Schuon, allowing readers to see a representative sample of his remarkable body of work.

How to link to a specific film clip: |
1. |
Select the clip that you want so that it shows in the main player. |
2a. |
Click the symbol at the bottom-right of the film player. A window will open up with a URL (example: http://www.worldwisdom.com/public/library/videos/Arvol_Looking_Horse_explains_the_Cycle_of_Life.aspx) in a textbox. Click on the "Copy" button at the left to copy the URL. This web address can then be placed on a web site as a hyperlink. After clicking the link, a user will be taken to this film clip library page, with the selected clip loaded into the viewer. |
or |
2b. |
Another way to share a clip is to open the window mentioned above in 2a and then fill in your e-mail address and the address of a recipient. Click on the "Send" button. The recipient will receive an e-mail from you titled "A video I thought you might enjoy." The message will contain a still image taken from the video you want the person to see. When the person clicks on the still, the World Wisdom video page will open in a new window, with the clip loaded in the player. |

How to link to all clips by one person: |
1. |
In the section at the top of this page where you select a person under "Interviews with," find the name of a person who has contributed one or more clips. The number of clips is next to the name, in parentheses. |
2. |
Go to our author or contributor page of the person. This can be done by placing your mouse over "Authors" on the main menu bar at the top of every page and selecting either "Authors" or "Contributors" and then clicking. You will be taken to either the Authors or Contributors page. If you do not find the person's name on one, try the other page. |
3. |
After finding the individual author or contributor page for the person, you will see a number of section headers at the top of the page, to the right of the person's photo. This is where the video clips of a specific person are grouped. There are two ways to get the link that will bring someone to this "film clips" section of an author's or contributor's page on World Wisdom. These are: |
4a. |
Right-click on the heading that reads "Film clips with the Author." Select "Copy Shortcut" from the list. Then paste the shortcut, which is the web address link, into a a web page or e-mail. |
or |
4b. |
Left-click on the heading "Film clips with the Author," which will take you to the section of the page listing that person's film clips. Now click in the section of your web browser that shows the URL (i.e. the web address), and copy it. It should look something like this: http://www.worldwisdom.com/public/authors/Frithjof-Schuon.aspx#Anchor_Video. Again, this URL can be used as a hyperlink on a web page or in an e-mail to send someone to the "Film Clips" section of a World Wisdom author or contributor page. |
