Long Description: an early form of Indian Buddhism translated as “The Teachings (or “way”) of the Elders.” As a historical religious tradition, it was formed soon after the death of the Sakyamuni Buddha. (This form of Buddhism is still practiced in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma, Laos, and Cambodia.)
