Long Description: This 12th – century work of Sekkizhar (qv) forms the concluding part of the Tirumurai. Periyapuranam, the Great Story, also known as the Tiruttondar-Puranam, narrates the lives of Saiva saints and is a landmark in the bhakti movement. Sekkizhar’s contribution to hagiography is considered so significant that he is spoken of as the 64th Nayanar.
