Long Description: successor, the head of the Platonic Academy in the chain of transmission; however, the diadoche is hardly a matter of institutional continuity, and may be understood in the sense of the golden chain of philosophers which serves to transmit the sacred knowledge and principles of pure ( diakekatharmene) philosophy.
