Akira Omine

Akira Omine is a leading Japanese scholar, educator, and author of religious philosophy. Prof. Omine has been Professor at Ryukoku University, and Emeritus Professor at Osaka University. He is also a member of the faculty of the Doctrinal Research Center of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha. Professor Omine is also an accomplished haiku poet.

Omine Akira contributed the essay “Shinjin is the Eternal Now” to Living in Amida’s Universal Vow, edited by Alfred Bloom.
